Situated high on a hillside up a winding road, Casa de Miel provides a bird's-eye view of famous Cane Garden Bay below with its sugar-white sand beach dotted with palm trees, and of yachts riding at anchor. From the parking area, a wooden door set in the welcoming entryway fashioned of native stone and vivid burnt orange opens dramatically into the pool area and to its awesome panorama of blue ocean and green islands.

The centrally air-conditioned main level of Casa de Miel is built as a decagon, a 10-sided circular pavilion with the tri-level pool deck on one side. This main level features an open-plan living/dining area and a kitchen with an arresting wall of iridescent glass tile. Casa de Miel's dining and living area is arranged along a semi-circular wall lined with large sliding glass doors which frame dramatic sea views, and offers a large flat screen TV and DVD/CD player. The well-equipped compact kitchen is centrally located in the hub of the circular main level. On the other side are two air-conditioned bedroom/bath suites, one a queen with cable TV and an adjoining bath with a stone-lined shower. A second door opens from this bath to the kitchen so it also serves as a convenient powder room. The king master suite is enhanced by cable TV, a walk-in closet, and a large bath featuring more stunning iridescent glass tilework, a double vanity and a spacious walk-in shower. Back in the living area, the arc of sliding glass doors opens to a native stonework balcony outside and to cool island breezes and that unforgettable Caribbean vista of blue water and sky. The balcony joins the pool area, set with teak chaise lounges, and a dining table perfect for alfresco morning coffee with a view or evening cocktails colored by tropical sunsets.

Casa de Miel's lower level is accessed via an exterior staircase. Done in the same color scheme as upstairs, the small sitting room with cable TV shares space with a kitchenette, and french doors open to a balcony. Two air-conditioned bedrooms (one king and one queen) share a bath. This villa is done in a pleasing island-ethnic style, with walls washed in pale green and orange sherbet hues and set off by handsome dark wood trim, Mexican clay tiles underfoot, and Tortola photos on display, taken by the villa owner - but who can take his eyes off that breathtaking, incomparable view? The pleasures of Cane Garden Bay are all just a minute's drive below this villa - the picture-perfect beach, clear water, beach bars and restaurants, dancing to Quito's live reggae and calypso just down the road, and friendly islanders to chat with. Casa de Miel is a convenient location from which vacationers can enjoy Tortola's very special island experience.

Rental Notes:
A complimentary caribbean dinner, prepared by Casa de Miel's cook, will be served to all guests on Wednesday night (unless another night of your choice is arranged in advance). Dinner is local cuisine, with an option of fish or chicken with rice and peas, salad, local tart and ice cream for dessert. The private cook is also available upon request to cook other three-course meals for a fee of $250, plus the cost of food and drink. Menu options are: shrimp, steak, fish, chicken, and lobster (when in season, at market price). Please make your arrangements for the cook's extra services with us well in advance of your arrival.
